Vanessa Gibson

Vanessa Gibson has over 12 years of human resources management experience for both U.S. based and international organizations including Fortune 100 Companies, start-up and non-profit organizations with specialized expertise in hiring. 

Vanessa uses her expertise to consult with senior, middle and new managers on employer best practices for hiring, firing, employee management, retention, dealing with difficult employees, salary/pay and other management issues. 

Recent Work Highlights include:

  • HR consultant to local small-businesses to maximize operational efficiency allowing companies to focus on core business.
  • Confidentially resolves workplace conflict & dispute for local small-businesses.
  • Business consultant on Salesforce implementation for medical services start-up company.
  • HR Manager for high-end consumer electronics technology sales/distribution Company with 23 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Responsibilities included compliance projects, training, benefits, payroll, staffing, employee relations, etc. 
  • Managed all aspects of the recruitment process for clients with hiring needs
  • Recruited talent for clients utilizing a variety of sources including candidate referrals, job postings, cold-calling, online networking sites (ex. LinkedIn), attending networking events, college recruiting, etc.
  • Created and implemented an online/offline marketing strategy reflective of a nonprofit’s new brand and mission statement as well as reflective of their members, donors, supporters and the community it serves. 
  • Projects for local nonprofit included: revising their corporate website, utilizing social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to raise awareness of their brand message, raising money online, and attracting new members.
  • Secured significant financial resources from individuals, foundations and corporations on behalf of companies in support of various charities & groups.
  • Documented business and IT processes for analysis, re-organized business documentation, and make ongoing recommendations for growth and process improvement for CEO of premier venue for charity, private & corporate events.
  • Created, managed, and maintained an online presence as part of corporate marketing strategy for companies via internet blogging & social media sites (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.).

Vanessa worked as a Human Resources Manager and Recruiting Manager for TiltWare LLC, a Los Angeles based start-up company consulting to the online gaming industry, and was part of their successful international transition to Dublin, Ireland under their new company, Pocket Kings, LTD, during which time she hired 300+ IT and Marketing employees in less than 2 ½ years to accommodate the rapid growth.  Previous to that she worked at the David Lewis Company (DLC), a finance and accounting consulting firm rated the 2003 #1 fastest growing company in Los Angeles per the L.A. Business Journal, as a Human Resources Manager and Recruiter where she specialized in hiring CPA's & MBA's with Fortune 1000 size company experience.  Vanessa also has 4+ years experience as an Executive Team Leader – Human Resources for Target where she was a District Trainer & Assessment Member, a District Safety & Volunteer Captain, a United Way Chairperson and a Technical Skills Trainer.

A Los Angeles native, Vanessa received her B.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology with a minor in International Political Science from California State University, Northridge.  Vanessa is currently a Bad Beat on Cancer Advisory Board member for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.  Her other volunteer activities have included organizing and attending annual volunteer and charity events at the Santa Monica Police Activities League, Santa Monica Family YMCA, Santa Monica History Museum, Hathaway House, Clean Up America, United Way, Children's Hunger Fund, Revlon Run/Walk for Women and the Los Angeles Walk for Hope.
